2017 ArabWIC 5th Annual International conference 

on Arab Women in Computing 

Technology and Applications Track

August 10-12, 2017

We are delighted to announce the Call for Participation for the 5th International Conference on Women in Computing in the Arab World 2017 Technology and Applications Track to be held on August 11, 2017   The ArabWIC 2017 conference technology and applications track invites innovative technical lightning talks (5 minute talks), presentation abstracts (15 minute talks & demos that will be organized into clusters by theme), hands-on workshops (up to 1-2 hours)  that relate to business, commerce, and industry (startups as well as established corporations) or government initiatives across the MENA region. The goal of this track is to build a community that is focused on technology and innovation as applied to business, industry and government in the MENA region. The track will provide a forum for practitioners and industry leaders to learn and interact the latest trends and best practices in technology as applied to the region, as well as innovations, cutting-edge techniques, and strategies, as applied to business and government globally that may be of interest to the MENA region. Topics include but are not limited to:
  • Applications in E-government, E-commerce, E-Health
  • Artificial Intelligence, machine learning & deep learning  and cognitive computing
  • Blockchain
  • Big data and data science
  • Cloud computing
  • Computer networks and communications
  • Human computer interactions (HCI)
  • Internet of Things/ Wearable technologies
  • Mobile computing
  • Open source technologies and trends
  • Social computing
  • Security and privacy
  • Semantic Web, information systems,data and knowledge management
  • And any area related to technology as applied in business, industry or government
  Preference will be given to submissions that have a connection with the MENA region, as well as topics that provide fresh perspectives. This is a competitive track with a limited number of slots.
